City Tour - Example Itinery
All tours are bespoke and designed after a discussion with clients. This is an example 5-day itinery:
LUANG PRABANG 5 DAY TOUR PROGRAMME:

Day 1:
I will pick you up from your hotel at 5:00am, yes 5:00am! We will go to the Giving of Alms on the main street. This will be a truly immersive experience, I will show you the correct and respectful way to honour this tradition and you will join local people offering Alms to Bhuddist Monks who travel from the local villages. After you can return to your hotel for breakfast and relaxation. I will pick you up again at 10:00 and take you to the famous UNESCO heritage site of Wat Xieng Thong or "Temple of the Golden City", Wat Xieng Thong is one of the most important of Lao monasteries and remains a significant monument to the spirit of religion, royalty and traditional art. We will then visit the Royal Palace Museum which houses a lot of interesting historical items. We will stop for a lunch of traditional Laotian food at Tamarind restaurant and then continue to Wat Mai which is one of the biggest and beautifully decorated temples in Luang Prabang. Finally we will climb up the Phou Si hill to visit Wat Chom Si and spectacular views of the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers.

Day 2:
A 9:30 start today so enjoy your breakfast at your hotel first! I will pick you up from your hotel and we will visit the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre followed by a stop at Wat Visounnarath before transferring to Ban Phanom weaving village for opportunity to see traditional cotton and silk weaving. Lunch will be taken at the Coconut Garden restaurant and in the afternoon we will have a minivan ride to Ban Chan pottery village and the Ock Pop Tok Living Crafts Centre. We will end the day at the famous Night market in Luang Prabang.

Day 3:
Another relaxing 9:30 start, we will travel by minivan to Ban Xang Kong village famous for its paper making and you will be able to have a real hands-on experience. Then we will travel on to Ban Pak Ou and take a boat trip to visit the famous Pak Ou caves where the Mekong and Nam Ou rivers meet, a place of worship for over 1000 years! Lunch can be enjoyed at the riverside restaurant. In the afternoon we will visit Ban Xang Hai whiskey village where you will be able to sample traditional Laos whiskey - not for the faint hearted! We will then transfer back to Luang Prabang where you will be able to relax and explore the towns shops and restaurants at your leisure.

Day 4:
Yes, you guessed it, why change a winning formula? Leaving your hotel at 9:30 we will travel to the Hmong villages Ban Na Oun and Ban Ou to explore, meet the local people and take in Hmong ethnic minorities culture. We will then travel on to the famous and picturesque Kuang Si waterfalls where you can relax in your own time, take lunch at the restaurant, swim in the turquoise pools or walk the trail through the forest. At approximately 4:00pm we will transfer back to Luang Prabang by minivan.

Day 5:
Enjoy your breakfast at your hotel or why not try one of the many restaurants in Luang Prabang? We will pick you up at 9:30 and transfer by minivan to Ban Ant village where we will take a boat trip to the beautiful Tad Sae waterfalls where you will be able to swim and trek to the upper pools. There will also be an opportunity to interact with elephants. After spending time at the falls we will travel by boat once again to Ban Xieng Lom where we will visit a local mushroom farmer and have a homemade Laotian lunch with local people, this is a very special and personal experience. After exploring the village we will return to Luang Prabang by minivan.

PRICE INCLUDES:
Meet and greet service at the airport or bus station. Transfers to hotel and all minivan transfers during the tour. Fully qualified and experienced tour guide for the duration of the tour.
DON'T FORGET:
I will be your personal tour guide, you will not have to travel with a large group. The programme can be tailored to your own individual needs and ability and we can change it as we go if you want. My aim is for you to have the best experience possible. The price will not include entrance fees to the various attractions and experiences.

Our main tip is to have fun and immerse yourself in the Laos culture, our country is a safe and friendly place and I will be able to advise you in all matters. Please respect the religious sites and ceremonies by dressing respectfully.
